Huge wind-turbines can be seen all over the Netherlands. Especially at the seaside where the wind is quite strong long rows of turbines are built. |

All the bigger cities I have visited are full of bikes and it isn't only for students the most used mean of transportation. A lot of bikers use their mobile while driving to chat and to check their SMS, so be aware. |

There is a wide variety of old and new houses around the waterways in Amsterdam. What all the houses have in common is the hook on top, that is used to lift the furniture into the apartments. |

Amsterdam has got 1281 bridges: drawbridges, lift bridges, wood bridges, metal bridges and arched bridges. Some of them are narrow and only useable by bikers and pedestrians, while others are huge - but each bridge has a distinct identity. |

Amsterdam - People

Dutch people are very friendly, but don't try to understand their language: if they think you get what they talk about, they will tell you a lot more that you won't be able to get anymore. After all communication is no problem: they do speak English perfectly. |

Utrecht - Waterways

Like in Amsterdam there is whole net of channels throughout Utrecht. Especially in the center of the town, most houses have direct access through their cellar to the waterways. Today those cellars are mostly used by students and artists as apartments or by restaurants, dancings or shops. |

The place to go out in Utrecht seen at day-time. Ekko is a pop podium, club and cafe with a very friendly atmosphere. There is a wide variety of different events, including live concerts, movie evenings or the the famous cyber-gothic party. |

Along the waterways of Utrecht there are lots of cafes and restaurants where people relax after work. Unfortunately due to the colder weather in autumn, most people don't want to sit outside anymore, so this is about the last one open. |

Rotterdam is a city with a lot of interesting modern architecture. In the middle of this picture you can see a quarter called the wood, because all its houses look like trees. Also check-out the panorama of Rotterdam. |

This is the central place of Rotterdam. The red and metallic art acts as lightning at night and is randomly moving sometimes. Some exhibits of other artists are shown around that place. |
